DigiTimes reports orders for entry-level smartphones and tablets are on the rise. Additionally, the site also heard that two-finger touchscreen solutions are being added to many smartphones and tablets for the Chinese and emerging markets, as well as Amazon's upcoming tablet device.
Smartphone vendors have been trying to lower the retail prices of entry-level mobile devices to US$100-200, and therefore the chances are rare for the vendors to adopt mobile chipset solutions from international players, the sources explained.

For touch-panel solutions, two-finger solutions, instead of 10-finger ones, are sufficient for entry-level smartphones, noted the sources, adding that many smartphones and tablet PCs launched recently in China and emerging markets, as well as the tablets to be launched by Amazon, all adopted two-finger solutions.
