FUD Zilla reports GlobalFoundries plans to produce 14nm chips in New York, after evolving to 20nm production first.
Newly appointed Globalfoundries CEO Ajith Manocha showed a slide that Glofo’s New York State Fab 7 is going to start production of 32nm and 28nm wafers once it goes operational. We expect to see the first chips sometime next year.

The more interesting fact revealed today is that the Malta fab will evolve to 20nm production, not 22nm as many have expected and that the next node after that is 14nm, rather than 15nm.
