JEDEC announced it will host a conference focused on memory technology for servers:
Memory technology for servers will be the focus of a conference hosted by JEDEC Solid State Technology Association in Santa Clara, CA on November 1 and 2, 2011. Experts from industry leaders, including major OEMs, will explore their vision of the future for server memory, including different types of memory that may be used in next-generation servers at the component and module level. For more information and registration, visit: http://www.jedec.org/events-meetings/server-memory-forum.

Presenters include representatives from Agilent, AMD, Clustered Systems Company, CST, Discobolus Designs, Facebook, IBM, Inphi, Intel, Micron, Microsoft, Oracle, Samsung, SEMATECH, and SeaMicro. Sessions will include discussions on server memory roadmaps, green memory technology, energy efficiency for large datacenters, profit through testing, DDR4 power features for servers, and much more. The event is sponsored by Samsung, Intel, Advantest, LeCroy and Wintec. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available: contact Donna McEntire (donnam@jedec.org) for more information.

“It’s no secret that today’s data centers are contending with dramatic changes brought about by an unprecedented rise in mobile device usage and cloud computing, and that memory plays a critical role in server power management and other essential functionality,” said Mian Quddus, Chairman of JEDEC’s Board of Directors. “JEDEC is pleased to partner with so many leading companies to offer vital information regarding this area of critical focus for the industry.”
