DigiTimes reports Foxconn is ready to produce iPads at its plant in Brazil:
A Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) plant in Brazil is ready to start producing Apple's iPads with shipments to begin in December, according to a recent report by Brazil-based UOL, citing Brazil's minister of science and technology Aolizio Mercadante.

The plant reportedly is a joint venture between Foxconn and the government of Brazil, with Foxconn contributing a capital of US$12 million. Industry watchers in Taiwan originally expected the plant to kick off commercial operations in the first quarter of 2012.
