Bit Tech noticed that id Software has released a graphical patch for the PC version of Rage. The update enables a couple of new tweaking options in the in-game menu and resolves specific driver problems.
A number of new options have been added to the in-game menu, including the option to enable VSync, Anisotropic Filtering and adjust the size of the texture cache.

id Software has also commented on some of the errors which plagued the launch of Rage on PC last week, blaming the problems on errors with constantly changing drivers.

'Rage defaults to lower video settings to allow the game to work on a wide variety of hardware and software configurations,' id said of the pre-patch version of the game on Steam. 'Unfortunately, it is not possible to anticipate all possible graphics driver issues in combination with unique end user hardware and software configurations.'
