Posted on Wednesday, October 19 2011 @ 21:52:44 CEST by

DigiTimes claims Foxconn has landed orders for Amazon's second-generation Kindle Fire tablet. Interestingly, the site also heard estimates that about 80 percent of all tablets will be manufactured by Foxconn in the futur.
Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) reportedly has secured orders from Amazon for assembling second-generation Kindle Fire tablet PCs, with shipments to begin in the first half of 2012, according to Taiwan-based makers. In response, Foxconn declined to comment. Foxconn also undertakes OEM production of Sony's Tablet S, the sources indicated.

With Apple's iPad 2, Sony's Tablet S and Amazon's second-generation Kindle Fire to all produced by Foxconn, the sources estimated that close to 80% of worldwide tablet PC shipments will be supplied by the company in the future.
