ATI R520 to have between 24 and 32 pipelines

The Inq writes ATI's R520 will feature between 24 and 32 pixel pipelines, depending on the performance of NVIDIA's G70 core.

It is said that ATI that will only enable all 32 pipelines if the G70 performs better than its R520, because 32 pipelines yields aren't so good.

The R520 is made on a 90nm process and will have more than 300 million transistors. It might be quite hot as it is the biggest chip ever.
