Seagate has adjusted its fourth-quarter HDD shipment goal to 41-45 million units due to the impact of flooding in Thailand. DigiTimes also provides figures from other HDD makers, Seagate seems to be in the best position as the company expects its HDD production will suffer between 10-18 percent, while WD's fabs are expected to churn out 55-60 percent fewer disks than the quarter before. Toshiba's shipments are expected to decline by around 45 percent, while Hitachi will lose about a third.
