The PC version of Alan Wake took quite a while to arrive but porting the game to the PC platform was well worth it because game developer Remedy earned back all the development and marketing costs associated to the port in as little as 48 hours. Alan Wake was first released for the Xbox 360 in May 2010, the PC port finally arrived on February 16th.
GamesIndustry.biz reports that, only 48 hours after the release of Alan Wake for the PC, Remedy had already recouped the development and marketing costs associated the port. The game came out on February 16, and Remedy claims it hit the number-one top-seller spot on Steam immediately. (Right now, Alan Wake sits in the number-two spot behind Cities XL.) Remedy CEO Matias Myllyrinne had this to say:

We made it a priority to create the best PC version of the game we possibly could, as opposed to a sloppy port we ourselves would hate to play, and judging by the amount of encouragement and positive feedback that has been pouring in, that's really paid off!
