Hitachi to present storage virtualization

Hitachi will present storage virtualization breakthroughs at Gartner PlanetStrage 2005, June 13-16 in Orlando, Fla.

Technologies for Storage System-based Data Protection Enabled by Virtualization will be presented by the company. In this session requirements for managing growing amounts of data that need to be stored and protected will be identified. In this context, Mr. Yoshida will cover different approaches to virtualization, highlight Hitachi Data System's unique approach to virtualization, and illustrate how customers leverage its solutions for tiered storage management and business continuity. He will also comment on the company's recent developments in these areas.

Mr. Merrill will be giving a case study presentation of the University of Utah Health Services Center's successful implementation of the Hitachi TagmaStore(TM) Universal Storage Platform and its virtualization capabilities. This session will showcase how this solution reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and delivered a high return on investment.
