Posted on Wednesday, April 18 2012 @ 19:46:20 CEST by

Legit Reviews noticed Dolby presented an impressive goggle-free 3D display prototype at NAB. The screen uses a quad-HD resolution with a sheet of undulating plastic to produces 3D at 26 different points around the display. The technology is expected to be released in 2013.
At NAB, The Verge saw a new 3D prototype display, a joint venture between Dolby and Philips. They were impressed with it display quality and clarity, which was very high and allowed 3D viewing even from far off to the side. The prototype display produced a 3D picture by combining a quad-HD TV with a sheet of undulating plastic, which produced 3D at 26 different points around the display. This display isn't quite ready for prime time, because the price of such high resolution displays is still very high.
