Market research firm DisplaySearch revealed in Q1 2012 that 15.4" panels with 2880 x 1800 pixel resolution were coming and now the firm is predicting that Apple is working on a 13.3" MacBook with a 2560 x 1600 pixel screen:
Now they are telling the world that 13.3-inch 2560x1600 resolution panels are being prepared for production in Q3 2012. Apple is again the most likely customer and OEM supply chain sources indicate that Apple will use this panel in MacBook Pro unit to be launched in fourth quarter this year.

The product volume is expected to be roughly twice that of the 15.4-inch version and needless to say that 2560x1600 doubles the pixel density of existing 13.3 inch MacBook Pro that is stuck with 1280x800 screens.
