Gartner: Acer top notebook shipper in Q2 2012

DigiTimes compares the notebook marketshare data from Gartner and IDC. The data from both firms varies quite a little, Gartner claims Acer ranked first in Q2 2012 with 7.567 million units while IDC estimates Acer shipped 7.061 million unit sin the quarter.

Acer's second-quarter shipments increased 1.2% on quarter, Gartner noted. In Europe, Acer's market share rose to 20% in the second quarter. In terms of total shipments of all types of PCs, Acer's global market share was 11.4% in the second quarter, ranking third, Gartner said.
