Samsung surprises with first Windows Phone 8 device

Samsung beat Nokia to the punch with the ATIV S, world's first Windows Phone 8 smartphone. This upcoming smartphone features a 4.8" HD Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 2, a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 1GB RAM, a 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera, microSD memory card slot, NFC, 2300mAh battery, and a thickness of just 8.7mm. The device has an aluminium body and will ship in 16GB and 32GB capacities. Nokia's first Windows Phone 8 device is expected to be unveiled at an event next week.
