The Verge
has taken a look at Windows RT and Office 2013 RT on Samsung's Ativ Tab. The site notes the desktop functionality of Windows RT is very similar to Windows 8, but got the impression that the ARM-based Windows RT devices are clearly designed to be used in Metro mode. Desktop apps will not run on Windows RT, with the exception of built-in ones from Microsoft itself, and it seems like the only reason that Windows RT even has a desktop mode is because the software giant's Office team hasn't got around Metro yet. From the video it becomes clear that Office 2013 RT still needs a lot of work, especially touch functionality is pretty poor.
