Dell is working on a new ultra-widescreen UltraSharp U2913WM LCD display. This unusual screen has a 21:9 aspect ratio and offers an IPS panel with 2560 x 1080 pixels.

Japanese tech site Get-PC published some pictures and reveals the screen features 300 nits brightness, a 5ms resposne time, 178-degrees viewing angles (horizontal/vertical), a USB-hub, and VGA, HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort inputs.

Typical 27" screens offer a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, while 30" screens have 2560 x 1600 pixels. This new 29" screen from Dell offers the same amount of horizontal pixels but significantly less vertical ones.

Pricing and availability is unknown.
