TPU came across a fresh rumor that claims that the Tahiti LE card we heard about earlier this week will likely be launched as the Radeon HD 7890. This new variant will be a Radeon HD 7800 series graphics card with a cut-down Radeon HD 7950 GPU. Details regarding the GPU's specifications are still unknown, but the report claims the chip will be about 15 percent faster than a GeForce GTX 660, while being similarly priced.
Although clock speeds, core and memory configurations are still under the wraps, the new SKU, according to the report, is being designed to be 15% faster than GeForce GTX 660 on average, while being similarly priced. AMD is gunning for the crucial X'mas shopping season, when apparently, a few cool people gift high-performance graphics cards.
