DigiTimes reports MSI's first Windows 8 laptops will hit the market next week. The company is still skeptic about Windows 8 tablets though, and hasn't made any plans for this segment.
Micro-Star International (MSI) will launch several Windows 8 touch-controlled notebooks in North America, Taiwan and Southeast Asia in mid-November, according to the company, adding that 50% of its production of motherboards is for own-brand sale and 50% for outside brand clients.

Since in the past three years MSI did not perform as expected in the notebook industry with a strategy of having a full-range of product lines, the company has turned to focus mainly on mid-range and high-end gaming notebooks to avoid direct price competition against first-tier brand vendors, and started gaining profits in the second quarter of 2012.
