Microsoft to develop Marvel Super Heroes massively multiplayer game for Xbox 360

Microsoft was granted exclusive rights to develop multiplayer online games based on Marvel's super heroes, including Spider Man, the X-men and the Hulk. The company says the deal covers the plan to develop a massively mutliplayer online (MMO) game for it's Xbox 360 console. The first Marvel super heroes MMO is slated for 2008.

"This is our one and only," Tim Rothwell, worldwide president of the Consumer Media Group at Marvel Enterprises, told Reuters, referring to the MMO pact.

The MMO deal is Microsoft's first for a console, although the company has previously had MMO deals for the PC.
