Neowin reports the customer satisfaction rate for Windows 8 has dropped to 74%, just one percentage point ahead of Windows Vista. Later this year the rate may improve again as Microsoft issues Windows 8.1, a free update that will reportedly bring back the Start button.
Microsoft's satisfaction rating peaked at 78 in 2011, two years into the tenure of Windows 7. Since then, things have headed downhill, dropping to 75/100 in 2012 and then down to 74/100 in 2013. While this isn't an all-time-low for Microsoft, it is a worrying drop off from 2009, after an ascent of nearly 10% from 2008-2011.
