Microsoft issued a preview of Windows Server 2012 R2 on MSDN, this new build shows off the new Start Button that will become part of the Windows 8.1 update. The new Start button looks just like the Start button in the Charms menu, and when you right click it you'll see that Microsoft brought back the ability to shut down the machine via the Start button.
