Later today AMD will introduce its Hawaii GPU but VideoCardz reports this card won't hit retail shelves until around October 20th. If the rumor mill is correct, the Radeon R9 290 series will be the only truly new products in AMD's new graphics card lineup because all other cards in the Radeon Rx 200 series are expected to be rebrands.

The Radeon R9 280X for instance is expected to be nothing more than a Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition - with perhaps a minor clockspeed bump. The R9 280X is slated to be launched around mid-October and the good news is that most of these cards will use custom designs.
