We've been hearing rumors about a curved phone for quite some time now and now Samsung officially revealed the Galaxy Round. This is world's first phone with a curved display, the screen is a 5.7" OLED model with a 1080p resolution. The added value of a curved display is still very small because the phone's body itself is still rigid, but as the technology matures you can expect to see more interesting phone designs as well as screens that are significantly less breakable than current phone screens. The Galaxy Round doesn't really benefit from this yet because the flexible OLED screen is still covered in glass.
The sleek and thin Samsung Galaxy Round is equipped with a 5.7” full HD (1920*1080) Super AMOLED with 7.9mm thick and weighs 154g offers a comfortable hand grip feeling to user, and exclusive experiences of curved display. As a result of its unique curved design, users can take advantage of round integration experiences like the Roll Effect that enables user to check information such as date, time, missed call and battery easily when home screen is off, and the Gravity Effect for creating visual interaction with the screen by tilting the device.

Samsung Galaxy Round is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S800 (MSM-8974, four Krait cores at 2.30GHz, Adreno 330 graphics engine at 450MHz, dual-channel LPDDR3 memory controller) application processor. The Galaxy Round features 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and is equipped with 32GB flash storage as well as microSD memory card slot. Samsung equipped its Galaxy Round zoom model with 13MP main camera with LED flash, 2MP front, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, GPS/GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 (LE), multiple sensors (RGB light sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity sensor, etc), 2800mAh battery and so on. The S4 comes with Google Android 4.3 "Jelly Bean" operating system and supports all 2.5G, 3G, 3.5G (up to HSPA+ with 21Mb/s) types of networks as well as 4G/LTE where available.
