While browsing Facebook I came across the following two slides which reveal details of Intel's 2014 Haswell-E platform. The slides seem to be a couple of months old but are worth posting nonetheless. Intel's Haswell-E platform will be the first desktop platform from Intel to feature eight-core, 16-threaded processors, while also being the first to receive support for quad-channel DDR4 memory. On top of that, the new enthusiast platform will also feature 40 lanes of PCIe Gen 3.0 to support up to four discrete graphics cards, while catering to overclockers with more overclocking options and unlocked processors.

According to Intel, DDR4 memory will offer twice the density of DDR3, while consuming up to 20 percent less power. The introductory clockspeed of DDR4 will be 2133MHz.
