VR Zone published a photo of an engineering sample of Intel's upcoming Haswell-E processor. Expected to be introduced in Q3 2014, this 22nm chip will offer eight cores and support for DDR4 memory.

The engineering sample pictured below has a frequency of 3GHz and was manufactured using an Intel foundry in the US, likely meaning it's a very early engineering sample.

Haswell-E will require a new motherboard with the X99 chipset, which offers native support for USB 3.0 and ten SATA 6Gbps ports.
