Dell is reportedly moving its PC R&D resources at its development center in Austin, Texas to its Taiwan development center to cope with the shrinking demand for PCs:
Global PC demand is shrinking and vendors have to minimize production costs to cope with the continual decreases in PC pricing. Taiwan has advantages in PC hardware development in terms of technological capability and cost, the sources pointed out.

Dell's Taiwan development team has been recruiting staff, with most of job positions focusing on Chromebook and tablets, the sources indicated.
