UMC seeing better 28nm yields

DigiTimes reports UMC's 28nm yields have improved recently, but exact details on the yield rate weren't leaked.

United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) has seen the yield rate of its 28nm production improve recently, with the process to begin generating revenues for the foundry house soon, according to industry sources.

Chipset vendors including Qualcomm, MediaTek and Realtek Semiconductor are potential clients for UMC's 28nm process, the sources indicated.
