TPU came across rumors that NVIDIA is distributing engineering samples of a card based on the GM200 A1 GPU. The rumor mill claims the card made its way from Taiwan to Bangalore, India from where it's likely shipped to the company's facilities in Bangalore and Hyderabad. This chip is still in pre-production phase, it needs some more testing before it's upgraded to A2 stepping and entering volume production.

The GM200 is reportedly made on a 28nm process by TSMC and allegedly has over 4,000 CUDA cores, a 512-bit memory bus and a die size of over 600mm². It's believed that the energy efficiency gains in the Maxwell architecture will enable NVIDIA to push out a chip that big.

A GM200-based GeForce GTX Titan II could hit the market in the first half of 2015 if this rumor pans out.
