Yesterday's announcement from AMD that CEO Rory Read is stepping down and will be replaced by Lisa Su is causing a turmoil on the stock market. AMD shares gapped down at the opening bell and at press time they've plunged 10.06 percent to $2.95, the lowest level since early 2013.

Some market watchers believe Su is the ideal candidate to head AMD and explain she's highly capable - not only in management but also in engineering. Others are divided about the CEO replacement because it arrived so sudden and without explanation.
