Microsoft has nine security bulletins this Patch Tuesday

It's the second Tuesday of the month so if you're running Windows you can expect your monthly dose of Patch Tuesday updates today. For October there are a total of nine bulletins, three are rated as critical, one is marked as moderate and the five other updates are described as important.

The critical updates affect a vulnerability in Internet Explorer and Windows itself, all three affect Windows 8.x plus one important update. For Windows 7 there are three critical updates, one moderate update and one important update. There's also a patch for Office as well as one for Developer Tools.
