Amazon Echo is a living room version of Siri

Amazon surprised us with the launch of Echo, a new hardware device that largely resembles a living room version of Siri. The device is controlled with your voice and can look up information, news, weather and other data for you.

It's a quite unusual product from Amazon and given its $200 price tag it seems quite a gamble for the company. Overall this seems like a quite expensive speaker (yes, it can play music too) with some "smart" Internet-connected functionality.
