A couple of days ago Intel issued version 10.0.27 of its Chipset Device software. These releases often go unnoticed but now TPU discovered that this new version adds support for the Intel 100-serie chipset (the Z170 in particular), the 6th gen Core "Skylake" CPUs and Windows 10.
The software comes with driver dates of 5th May, 2015, and given that Z170-driven socket LGA1151 motherboards are already in industry circulation as engineering samples, such as this one, product launches could be quite close. One can expect Z170-driven motherboards to make an appearance at Computex 2015 (early-June). Core "Skylake" processors launch later this year. Windows 10, on the other hand, is expected to launch in July.
