ASUS smartphone business starting to become profitable

DigiTimes reports ASUS has shipped 1.5 million smartphones last month. The company is on track to ship 2 million smartphones this month and is now starting to generate profits from this division. Meanwhile, sales of the ZenPad tablet series are expected to hit 8-10 million this year.
Additionally, sales of the company's recently released ZenFone Selfie phone are expected to start gaining momentum in July, Asustek added.

The ZenFone Selfie features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display, Qualcomm 8-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 CPU and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 cover.

Asustek also plans to launch a new series of ZenPad tablet product in July, aiming to ramp up its tablet shipments to 8-10 million units in 2015.
