The real question is how much stock was available. Hardwareluxx writes large European retailers sold cards for between 699EUR and 730EUR. A quick check reveals reference-based GeForce GTX 980 Ti cards can be found for around 677EUR - 700EUR in Germany, meaning the Fury X is currently around 20-30EUR more expensive than the faster GTX 980 Ti.
Hardwareluxx spoke to a couple of retailers and got to hear that large shops like Mindfactory.de had sold over 35 cards whereas smaller shops only got two to three cards.
The supply situation is rather unclear. AMD stated it had sold all its cards to its partners, right at the start. This statement has to be taken with more than a grain of salt, as no exact or even approximate numbers are known. The first batch namely seems to be sold out in Europe. German dealer Mindfactory stated it had sold more than 35 Radeon R9 Fury X cards. This should also be the case for similarly sized stores around Europe. The card is currently unavailable from major deale Alternate. Smaller shops state they only got two to three cards. What now has to be observed is when the next round of cards will be shipped, and how the supply situation will improve. This will also indicate how many "Fiji" GPUs AMD is able to produce, alongside HBM on the interposer.I just double checked the Mindfactory website and at press time they seem to have over five Sapphire Radeon R9 Fury X cards in stock for 699EUR a piece. This illustrates that while the card is hard to find, there's still some stock here and there if you don't mind paying more for the Fury X than for a GTX 980 Ti.
A quick check over the pond reveals large US retailers like Amazon and Tigerdirect are all out of stock. Newegg sold out its individual cards but is still selling an AMD and Intel "upgrade your gaming rig today" bundles with the Radeon R9 Fury X, a motherboard and a processor.
In the UK we find OCUK has 3 PowerColor Radeon Fury X cards in stock but these are selling for £649.99. We can't imagine anyone in his/her right mind would buy this card considering OCUK is having a £509.99 promotion on the GeForce GTX 980 Ti. The site is also offering Radeon R9 Fury X pre-orders for £509.99 but the ETA for these orders is July 17, 2015 to July 24, 2015, depending on the board vendor!
