Chinese tech site TechBang claims it has world's first review of Intel's upcoming Core i7-6700K "Skylake" flagship. The chip was pitted against the Core i7-4790K "Haswell" processor and if the results are accurate the performance boost is rather small. The review has been taken down for now but luckily sites like Hexus have backups of the good stuff.
Overall the average performance advantage of the Skylake chip comes out at a little under seven per cent. We must be cautious with these early figures as they could be fakes and/or improve further with driver enhancements for the chipset, motherboard etc.
