Intel has reportedly dividend the desktop computer market into six segments in terms of market positioning and price

Here's an overview of the segments:
  • Enthusiast Tower for gamers
  • video/audio content and high performance
  • Mainstream with high performance/price ratios
  • All-in-One (AIO) PCs
  • Mini PCs (NUC)
  • Portable AIO PCs and Compute Sticks
  • The NUC/Mini PCs will support both Windows and Chrome OS, while the other five segments are exclusively marketed for Windows 8.1/10. DigiTimes writes Intel is currently seeing encouraging sales growth in the Enthusiast Tower, NUC and Compute Sticks demand.
