Acer reveals the Revo Build, a rather unique Windows 10 computer that can be upgraded in a Lego brick-like fashion.
The system consists of a main PC base unit, this unit measures 125mm x 125mm and features an Intel Skylake based Pentium or Celeron class processor, 8GB RAM (which can be upgraded by loosening just one screw) and 32GB of storage.
Users can easily upgrade the base system with extra Blocks, these units attach magnetically to the base unit and to each other. The base unit of the Revo Build starts shipping in October in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for 249EUR.
Examples of blocks include a storage block with a 500GB or 1TB hot-swappable portable HDD, a wireless power bank for wireless device charging, an audio block with speakers and microphones and a graphics block with a discrete graphics card. At launch, the only block available will be the storage block. Acer promises additional blocks will be "rolled out gradually".
