PalmSource works together with Linux specialist MontaVista

PalmSource is now cooperating with MontaVista to accelerate the development of its Linux-based Palm OS:
The cooperation with MontaVista is intended to accelerate these developments. PalmSource will become a member in MontaVista's partner program for the Mobilinux Open Framework. In turn, the Linux company will become a member of PalmSource's program Palm Powered Mobile World. MontaVista was the leading supplier of Linux systems for mobile devices, PalmSource declared by way of comment. For PalmSource customers too cooperating with the company implied that competitive, low-cost smartphones on a Linux basis would achieve market maturity much faster, PalmSource added.
