NVIDIA GeForce Now for the Shield device is like Netflix for gaming

NVIDIA introduces GeForce NOW, a new cloud-based game streaming service for the Shield console that uses a Netflix-like monetisation model. For $7.99 a month you get access to over 50 popular games, which are streamed to your NVIDIA Shield device in 1080p Full HD quality and at 60 frames per second.

Everything is streamed so you don't need fancy hardware to run the latest games in high quality. You open up the client and 30 seconds later you'll be playing AAA games like the The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. At least, that's the promise. It's going to be interesting to see if latency doesn't screw up the gameplay experience.

You listen to music on Spotify. You watch movies on Netflix. Instant gaming gratification should always be a button press away, too.
