DigiTimes heard rumors that Samsung has dropped the pricing of its 14nm foundry services to lure more customers. The site writes the South Korean conglomerate has offered lower pricing to HiSilicon Technologies, one of TSMC's major clients, as well as to Apple and Qualcomm.
Samsung has already attracted 14nm chip orders from Apple and Qualcomm by dropping its prices, the sources indicated. Qualcomm relies on TSMC to manufacture most of its Snapdragon processors, while Apple has TSMC make the majority of A8 chips found in the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
