Western Digital close to taking over SanDisk

Rumors about a potential deal between SanDisk and WD are intensifying. Bloomberg writes SanDisk is in advanced talks to sell itself to Western Digital and heard from its sources that a deal could come as soon as this week. SanDisk reportedly approached both Western Digital and Micron Technology, and the first is believed to be discussing a price of between $80 and $90 per share:
Western Digital is discussing a price of between $80 and $90 per SanDisk share, according to two of the people, who asked not to be identified because the information is private. SanDisk closed at $72 in New York trading on Monday. While no agreement has been signed and talks could still fall apart, negotiations accelerated over the weekend, the people said.
