The Tech Report came across an interesting set of videos that show off the capabilities of the Intel RealSense camera technology by applying virtual makeup to the face of a model.
Asai's team used Intel's RealSense 3D camera technology to map the model's face, and (obviously) a powerful Intel-powered computer to stitch the whole thing together. The group first scanned their model's face before using photogrammetry to create a 3D model of the subject. That way, the team had the necessary parts to map the gorgeous 2D animations they had prepared into 3D space.
