Some details about Intel's upcoming 540S solid state disks appeared at a German price comparison website.

The new Intel 540S SSD lineup will be the first TLC NAND flash memory based disk from Intel. The model will use 16nm TLC memory manufactured by SK Hynix and will sport the Silicon Motion SM2256 SSD controller. The 540S models will ship in 2.5" and M.2 form factors and will be available in capacities of 120GB to 1TB. Pricing will vary from 70EUR for the 120GB model to 370EUR for the 1TB version.

Not a lot of technical details are known but previous leaks point to maximum read and write speeds of 560MB/s and 480MB/s, respectively. Intel is expected to launch its 540S lineup within a week or two.
