At the Pascal launch event, NVIDIA gave a demonstration of Doom running on the GeForce GTX 1080 video card. Doom was using the Vulkan API and the performance of the game was jaw dropping. Running at 1080p resolution with Ultra quality settings, the game ran at up to 200fps after the framerate was uncapped (around the middle of the video) and hardly dropped under 100fps.
Today NVIDIA showcased the new GeForce GTX 1080 running DOOM with Vulkan API for the first time - running at up to 200 fps with Ultra settings. PC gamers, get excited! DOOM launches on 5/13.
