HTC to spin off its VR business unit in Q3 2016

HTC announces plans to spin off its virtual reality business in Q3 2016 at the earliest. The company said it will not sell stakes in the new entity and revealed no further information:

HTC has said it will own a 100% stake the new business entity without further elaboration, said the paper.

HTC has established Vive Studios to develop VR content in-house, as well as a Viveport channel to promote the sale of its own VR content.
