An updated Crytek roadmap reveals the CryEngine video game engine is expected to gain support for the Vulkan API in mid-November with the launch of version 5.3. Furthermore, we also learn that support for DirectX 12 multi-GPU is getting a bit closer to finalization, that feature should be part of the 5.4 update in late February 2017.

As Overclock3D reports, these engine updates will make it easier for game developers to add these features to future games:
These updates will allow CryEngine users to develop games with Vulkan support with ease and make DirectX 12 Multi-GPU much easier to implement into future games. Hopefully, other major game engines like Unreal Engine 4 and Unity will follow suit soon.

Adding this support at a game engine level will allow developers to make use of these new APIs and features with less in depth coding, which will allow developers to focus on different tasks.
