Word is going around that NVIDIA plans to launch a refresh of its Pascal platform in 2017 because Volta is delayed to 2018.

TweakTown picked up rumors that the Pascal 2.0 release will include more GPUs based on the GP102 core, including cheaper versions of the Titan X and GTX 1080 video cards.

With exception of the entry-level parts, the entire Pascal 2.0 lineup is expected to feature GDDR5X memory. The source also claims these parts will be made on a 14nm FinFET process from Samsung, a rumor that started surfacing a couple of weeks ago.

This rumor is in contrast with previous rumors about a 16nm Volta launch in 2017 so take it with a grain of salt.
