With the desktop launch of Intel's Kaby Lake slated for early 2017, we're now starting to see the first motherboards with the new Z270 Express chipset.
TechPowerUp got its hands on two photographs of Z270 motherboards from ASRock. The pictures are intentionally blurred and only show the product boxing, but they reveal the existence of the ASRock Z270 Gaming K6 and the Z270 Pro4.
The Gaming K6 is presumably a premium model, while the Z270 Pro4 is likely a more mainstream version. The Z270 motherboards will support both Skylake and Kaby Lake processors, and existing 100-series motherboards should be able to support Kaby Lake after a BIOS update.
Among other things, the Z270 will have 24 PCIe 3.0 lanes, up from the 20 offered by the Z170.
