Speaking at yesterday's investor meeting, TSMC co-CEO Mark Liu provided an update about the foundry's future nodes.

Development of the 7nm process is well on track, Liu said, and should hit risk production phase in the second quarter of 2017. The foundry expects over 20 clients will use its 7nm node and foresees volume production for 2018. The 7nm node from TSMC will target both mobile and high-performance applications.

Volume production of TSMC's 10nm process is expected by the end of 2016, but this node is mainly for mobile device chips, so don't expect to see any 10nm GPUs.

DigiTimes also reports development of TSMC's 5nm node is well under way, this process technology will be suitable for both mobile and high-performance chips. TSMC expects to ramp its 5nm process in 2019.
