In Back to the Future II, Marty McFly ended up in 2015 and was seen with a futuristic pair of Nike self-lacing shoes. Unlike the movie picture, self-lacing shoes didn't become a thing in our world but Nike decided to earmark some R&D dollars to create these shoes. After a lot of teasing, the first retail version of the Nike self-lacing shoe is expected to hit shelves on December 1st.

Called the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0, these shoes will be available in limited editions at two locations in New York: the Nike Soho store and the NIKE+ ClubHouse at 45 Grand. Buyers need to have Nike+ membership and be prepared to shelve out $720 for this pair of futuristic shoes.
When you put your foot in the shoe it lights up, as a pressure sensor in the sole draws tighter an arrangement of fishing line inside. You adjust the fit with two buttons on the front. The laces on the front are just for decoration, sadly.
